Study tips for English in Lok Sewa Ayog

English portion of Lok Sewa exam seems to be tough to much of the students, may it be students from government school or may it be from private school.
The questions are designed as such that it is tougher for any background students. So, studying effectively is necessary for all students attending Lok sewa
exams.
Questions in English are asked in 3 models- reading passage and questions, grammar questions and vocabulary questions. These questions are not all easy to solve, mostly examiners have difficulty with vocabulary questions.
Here are some tips for all types of questions that are asked in lok sewa exams:

1. Vocabulary questions:

This portion seems to be most difficult to all students as much of the asked words are never seen. To master this portion you should study with some tactics.
Firstly, you should study root words from which most English words are formed. Most words are formed from some common root words. Meaning of Prefix and suffix and their use are also root words that are to be remembered in English word.
Most helpful tip to remember word is use of Flash Cards. Flash card can help remember words easily. Making menomics out of words are most proved useful tip to learn English language. We will be writing another article on how to make flash cards and also to make mnenomics out of words in our coming articles.

2. Reading passage and solving questions:

Most passages are unseen by students that are asked in Lok Sewa exam and there is rare condition that any before asked passage are repeated. So there is no easy way to memorize certain passage and getting ready for the English portion in the exam. So. what is the way to prepare for the passage questions?
Its all about practice. May the passage not be repeated but ideas are repeated most often. The passage may be from different sources- science, arts, literature, business etc. You should not remember the exact business words if you are student from other faculty. Remembering or solving exact type of word from business or science is not asked, instead direct ideas and sometimes vocabulary in passage are asked. So look for the ideas and vocabulary that may be asked in passage dont bother about technical words used in passage as if certain technical words are given they will be defined in passage itself.
It is difficult to waste much time in passage itself when we have really less time for 100 questions to solve. So at first read the passage for general idea. Fetch idea like what is the passage about and make a framework in your mind. Next, look at the question and try to scoop out answers for the questions. Practice reading soon and also make habit of reading English newspapers with analytical thinking.

3. Grammar questions:

Most students think grammar is really easy portion. But it is not always the case. It is a competitive exam so it is less likely you will get easy grammar questions. Questions seem easy but there are certain structures and rules that are to be remembered before being sure of the answers of question. You can refer simple books that are taught for SLC level students. You should read structures that are used in English grammar that are taught to SLC level students.
