My experience with Amoebiasis
Being a student of Microbiology and being graduated on this subject I must have interacted with lots of microorganisms in the laboratory, It seemed pretty cool to study about all of them and thinking oneself having the power to visualize the invisible. Though it seemed pretty
fun with the studies it really proved not to be such fun having them in a part of life.
Having studied a lot about the structure and physiology of many organisms including their life cycle and the way to eradicate them including the way to treat them with the use of general measures up to the use of antibiotics seemed really tough in the studies and of course during exams. That toughness seemed vain when I really got some in a part of my life.
The month of July, rainy season, a month of the economy for the pathological labs and hospitals. I was always a careless person who must have got infected through the oral route may be through water or food. My friends and family members, my loved ones always warned me to be careful about my health, I had tried my best on every expects to care. But must be accidentally I got infected.
Preliminary symptoms gave me real trouble in my stomach. I went to the doctor, don't know why such persons are kept in hospitals, without full diagnosis and full lab report prescribed me just the medicine for gastritis. That day though seemed to be less trouble but the night was even horrible than the last day.
Early at 5 am I reached the emergency ward of Civil Hospital. It was my first experience to be admitted to the bed of the hospital. With the intravenous application of pain killer and medicine for gastritis after a while I got relief. The doctor advised for blood, stool, and urine tests, and samples were delivered to the pathology lab. Having not been able to sleep for full 2 nights my eyes must have been closed in relief and painless. As I was alone in the town I called some of my friends for help. My friend Rabin was there in no time, another good reason to add relief to me. The other three friends ( Kala, Babita, and Ganesh) also visited me who lived near the hospital. Though being at the emergency ward presence of friends seemed wonderful and we were just chatting so loud as if we were in a garden. Friends being at my side during difficulty meant a lot to me that every time.
Finally, a small suggestion to all, do take care of your health especially on your food and drink every time. It's really painful and difficult to be in a disease which we think to be common until we are affected by it.

Lab report arrived, blood and urine were fine. USG was performed and all normal. Finally got a stool report with the presence of E histolytica. Thank god I was on time in the hospital for diagnosis as I was well known about the consequences of the late diagnosis of this microorganism,
With some bottles of intravenous antibiotics, I finally was discharged from the ward with additional antibiotics and advice,
The later time was also not as expected, After the end of the painkiller effect pain was the same but a bit lowered. Sometimes I even thought this pain would never leave me. After follow up after a week and finishing the complete course of antibiotics I am now resting in front of my laptop and writing this blog with no pain of what I have gone through for the last 7 days.
Finally, a small suggestion to all, do take care of your health especially on your food and drink every time. It's really painful and difficult to be in a disease which we think to be common until we are affected by it.
